Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy

The Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy takes its proportions from Tudor’s early dive watches: a 39mm steel case, domed dial and aluminum bezel rather than the larger dimensions that became common in modern dive watches. Inside is Tudor’s manufacture MT5402, a COSC-certified automatic movement with roughly 70 hours of power reserve. The blue dial and bezel, silver printing and lack of gilt make the Navy a particularly restrained version of the Fifty-Eight.

What makes the watch interesting is how convincingly those old proportions work without making the watch feel like a reproduction. The snowflake hand and crown are unmistakably modern Tudor, while the size and simplicity reach further back into the company’s dive-watch history.
